The St. Louis Safe Sleep Task Force was formed in 2005 in response to the high number of infant deaths in the St. Louis metropolitan area.  Local professionals concerned about this trend came together to examine regional data regarding sudden infant death, identify risk factors associated with these deaths, and promote recommendations for safe sleep for infants to health care professionals and the general public.
